I work as an instructional specialist for 2U/EDX and work suddenly went missing today, and I also see multiple threads about layoffs today. Coincidence?

Have a backup plan just in case. Won't say what part of the org im with but upper management has been unusually silent and/or vague. I would probably expect an announcement tomorrow
Some instructional staff were laid off today. if last year's layoffs are any indication there might be multiple rounds of layoffs. If I were you, I'd update that resume and portfolio.
