Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Are they going to bring us back to office?

Is work from home going to stop? And all of us moved to work from office?

I had heard from senior leadership that one cost cutting measure being considered is that the company may discontinue paying for WFH internet. That would su-k for everyone who doesn't maintain a separate account for personal use (as required per the WFM agreement)

No, they are not going to force people back to the office. If anything, they will use "work from home" as an opportunity to reduce rent, utility, and other office expenses to support shareholder value by reducing expenses and increase profits. No need to worry about going back to the office. What is worrisome is whether all workers will still have jobs!

Why? You're paying the utilities now.

If anything some of us in office are going to be forced remote with the 9900 building closing. We received an email thay anyone who averages less than 3 days per week will lose their desk

No- Optum was remote friendly before COVID. They also shut down many offices.
