Anyone know why he's leaving CVS?

The timing was odd. Goddard notified his team last Wednesday morning that Friday was his last day. Guidewell put the press release announcing his appointment as CFO the same morning.
An absolute sh---y loss for CVSH and Caremark. Jeff was the kind of leader we need more of, not less.
Goddard allowed to go to guidewell? Non compete doesn’t block that?
Jeff Goddard was being set up to fail by Karen. It was obvious that he was waiting in the wings as her likely successor. In order to hold onto her tenuous position, Karen has been surrounding herself with less than competent lackeys and pushing out effective executives.
yea i agree Jeff was great
Jeff is a good guy. I worked with him for 15 years or so. My guess is he is 55 with 10+ service and that qualifies him for early retirement from CVS. All his stock vest, etc. So he retires from CVS and moves to another company. Good for him. I think Tom M. did the same. I also think these senior leaders had to return to the offices in RI or CT and many were used to remote.
Maybe he saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship before it sank?

October “retirements”, layoffs. The elite get retirements, us little people get laid off.
