Rumours of ‘voluntary’ redundancies in TCS Ireland particularly Letterkenny

Heard from some old Pramerica/TCS colleagues/friends that people on the bench more than 3 months are now being asked to take ‘voluntary’ redundancy. I’m guessing the package offered is not great beyond statutory. I also heard the ‘asked’ was more like pressured.

Feel really bad for my old Pramerica colleagues who stayed behind after being TUPE’d to TCS. All their old work (and mine) was transitioned haphazardly to India and then you had to internally apply for new roles often with requirements completely at odds with their work experience.

Luckily for me, I saw what was coming and started looking for work just after the deal was announced and was in my new job about two weeks after the first TCS payslip.

So sad it has come to this. I hope employees get a good redundancy package - being tupeēd over from the old company would mean they should get the old company’s redundancy package I would think? and if I remember correctly that was OK.

22 people got laid off in September 2023, you had to be on bench 6 mths or more and meet other requirements.

Toxic workplace, still a high number of people on bench with no future roles in sight, a lot on bench over 12mths and some over 2 years.

Disaplinary action being placed on employees who don't take roles that have nothing to do with their current career.
