I only experienced Steve's leadership briefly but feel like this wouldn't have happened if chieftain Steve stayed on. He wouldn't have let those EVPs and SVPs and dinosaur board members bundle their failed projects with projects that were actually making money, then shut down and lay off the talented people in profitable project, and move the rest of it to India just so they can save their own a--es. CA burned QC down in two brief years, it breaks my heart to see the company lose all this talent it worked so hard to build and that it'll be either completely defunct in 10 years or suffer the fate of once-great Bell Labs and become Apple Banana Mountain Dew Qualcomm.
Now I gotta go, as much I hate Dell I gotta long its stock seeing chieftain Steve joined the board.

I think SM was just stating fact. Q doesn't do software well. It's not a software company. It's not an AI company. It's not a car company. It's not a camera company. It's not a lot of things. Don't be sad. Truth hurts. Q is a one trick pony, trying to be a more-than-one trick pony. Not sure any CEO we've had or will have can change that. It's not in its blood, not in it's "culture".
Steve Mollenkopf once made the comment that "we don't do software very well".
That should have been an alarm for everyone on the board and the executive team that he was not going to be anything more than a one trick pony.
He had absolutely no vision... and if the truth came out would probably be identified as the backstabbing AHole I suspect him to be.
Steve now a director on Dell Computer board. Fishy, fishy ...
Carnitas : "Oh sh!t Steve! What do I do?"
Steve : "You have reached Steve's voicemail. Steve is not here right now, he's fishing. Good luck sukkers!"
Post ID: @neo+1oOARKIj is absolutely right. I have known multitude of such cases. In many cases, the husband is a senior director or director and his wife is a principal or senior staff. She gets a lay off with a nice package and rehired as program manager or same position in another group. No accountability for some of these leeches who are destroying retirements of a lot of people.
You're an id--t and you have no awareness Steve was also an id--t and couldn't make decisions and was responsible for Apple fiasco. There were layoffs because under him too. Uts part of business.
The biggest layoff in Qualcomm history happened under Steve… too bad you don’t know history
is 007 still there?
