Do you really think mini Vinny is going to spare anyone that's not sitting in an office somewhere? The executives do have access to regional scorecards, and can see what's being done. They can also look in the past to see who's not doing anything. So the idea of telling someone to get out of the office and do something to look busy just because he shows up is very pointless. If the mid-et wants to let people go, then he knows where they're at. The CEO needs to be very careful about doing any layoffs. The last thing the UP needs right now is to make even more headlines highlighting big layoffs somewhere. Remember the mid-et doesn't control the board like Fritz did. Vena can and will be let go by a simple vote by the board, if the board feels the company is moving in the wrong direction.
