Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Layoffs

Anyone have any idea when the apparent next layoff will be? Some have said October and some November? Everyone was pretty spot on with the last layoff in August.

In the past we always had layoffs in Nov. Good luck it's difficult to find work in the 4th quarter.

All Aetna and Tenured CVS Corporate are being released. The company is getting out of Insurance, PBM and Pharmacy. It's going into a Nationwide Urgent Care Service. Since the Pharmacy is striking this will spiral out of control.

It means that the layoffs for the little people are coming soon after the high level employees start "retiring"

The executive folks get retired. Little people get laid off.

I am also Aetna and full time wfh and my manager advised me to be prepared for a hybrid work schedule if within 20 miles of an office or a potential layoff

I’m a full time wfh on the Aetna side and we haven’t been notified of that. We are all wfh now- no one has been back in the office and no plans to. As of now we have been told it’s done

There is plans to have a nationwide walkout by the CVS pharmacy employees soon. I hope CVS is already preparing to use labor from overseas in HB-1 Visas. I guess they want the pharmacy to go under huh. Demanding workers rights huh? As soon as your planned workout happens there will be staff waiting in the parking lots and you will be laid off in mass. Nice knowing you.

Everything announced by now is it for 2023. I'd guess more layoffs next year

I have definitely heard October (HR for sure) but I haven’t heard anything beyond that. With minimal updates on where the aetna side of the business is going…I am venturing to say there may be more.

“I've heard mainly Aetna, especially full time telework Aetna employees are all being faded out :(“

I was full time remote and let go. I cannot think of any other reason other than seniority/pay putting me on the radar. I have also seen remote requisitions pulled and updated to hybrid. Which is really unfair when you were hired to be remote. Looks like more excuses to thin the herd.

Take care all and update that resume! Start looking now, the hiring process has slowed immensely with all the layoffs.

I've heard mainly Aetna, especially full time telework Aetna employees are all being faded out :(

Hoping there's no validity to this but being part of the Aetna business my boss especially has advised me to get prepared.

I've tried to post out but it's nearly impossible to find a job nowadays.

I feel sorry for those that will be notified. I was let go with the August layoff. I have adjusted and moved through the grief, mostly. Hopefully will get an offer in the next couple weeks.

But it’s scary and I can see the postings slowing, requisitions being pulled for jobs. Prayers for all affected and those yet to find out.
