Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

List was already finalized

The list was already finalized 2 Fridays ago. Its in HR now, doing? I dont know but it was finalized. The question is when will they notify? And why are we doing workday before and not after notifications.

Also, is it the 1st week or 2nd week of October and Wed/Thr?

If you stay and people you work with is gone who will give feedback about you?

3rd party feedback started even before layoff announcement. I think that’s just a coincidence that feedback deadline is close to the layoff notice date.

If you have to give feedback on anything (from the company to your manager to your colleagues to your office mate), always always give a positive feedback. Tell them the company is great, the manager was supportive, the colleagues were easy to work with like a nice big family where everyone got along and helped each other, the office mate was nice. Why? Cause these days, your background and other documents are online and can be obtained by others. So if you plan to go on working somewhere else, or even need to get back into the same company, or transfer internally to a different group, you don't want anything negative you said on a feedback/survey to prevent you from getting a job. If you want to complain about the company and colleague, just share it with your spouse and family. No one else, not even your friends. We all already know what these big corporations are like. They totally are horrible/unfair/bias/etc and it can get frustrating to work with some people in the group. But keep it to yourself, cause you don't want it written and recorded for the online internet public.

@azv+1oKGKj1s, I think they try to avoid that someone gave none or even wrong information for other's 3rd feedback if they know they are impacted.

It is too give no hints of upcoming layoffs. Qualcomm had but officially mentioned numbers and hence needs to follow process.

I dont get it either. Why provide 3rd party feedback before notifications? Is it to have a record in case they want to hire you back? Or is it a form of justification for when letting you go?
