So I am pro DEI. I think everyone should have an equal opportunity and there shouldn't be some bias against someone because of their s-x, race, religion, etc. If a woman is a great fit awesome. If someone who is a minority is great fit awesome etc.

That being said I am anti "hire for the sake of making numbers look good" I went for an internal position a while back and was told because I knew the team well that I was a shoe in. There was absolutely zero way I wouldn't get it and I should apply. So I did because it sounded like a good gig and I was bored of my existing one. I got led a long post interview process for weeks because "they had to fill the DEI interview quota that VMW set."

If I recall that is you just interview atleast two minorities and three women or something of the sort. They used to mention this on every all hands about how we are doing this quota to make it fair and equal.

No worries, I get it. Each time being told I would be guaranteed a spot and I did the best in interviews. Then the call happened which of course was a non recorded zoom call. "due to needing more DEI on the team you were not selected for either position" straight from the recruiter who thought it was BS as well.

Everyone should get a shot but we shouldn't hire someone who isn't as good as someone else just because of who they are. Don't even get me started in "ageism" which is only for boomers yet they will bash the younger generations and if it's flipped around on them they cry ageism.

The good news is that the market still works. Look around people. The country and the economy are a disaster, in no small part to the DEI crowd's mission to put people with no skills, experience or knowledge in jobs they feel they deserve. And it is obviously not working. As companies and economies collapse due to this malignant BS, knowledge, experience and skill in survival is what will matter.

I'll just say this, I'm in the pro dei camp btw, we are being attacked for absolutely no reason here except for jealousy and hatred. We are just responding to the incel trolls. I hate to fight fire with fire, but I'll not stand idly by. Keep coming at us trolls, we are strong in number.
