Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

How will Vena change anything when he got us in this problem in the first place?

Ah, the brilliance of Union Pacific! Nostradamus says I foresee another STB hearing! What a bunch of a— clowns are running this company.

He will scare people into it by threatening their jobs, or find someone that will. That’s how. There is always a fool that will do manager work for $115k a year.

Fix? Fix what? Anything the employees report is ignored. The V man has not specifically said one thing he is going to do to “fix” anything. All he has said is “we” are gonna have more safety and provide better service. He is gonna try to make other people do that but he isn’t gonna spend any money or help the people who perform the labor here. His contribution was the “plan” everyone else is risk life and limb trying to make it happen.

It's not about running a railroad. It's about managing a hedge fund.

Someone already posted before that the PSR game was a one-time deal. Everything got worse for the UP when they brought back the very guy that quarterbacked the PSR effort. The stock price went up the first time. This time it's done the exact opposite. I saw an article or a video after Fritz left, and Fritz said "It's hard to run a railroad"! NEWS FLASH, NO IT'S NOT! It's railroading 101! You build a train, run it, then you rinse and repeat. If one would focus on just running the railroad, then it's a no-brainer! The moment the shareholders got involved, then you made the job hard for yourself. Either run the railroad or cater to the shareholders. It doesn't a take business expert to know YOU CAN'T DO BOTH! I would say all it takes is common sense, but I'm worried that the executives don't have that either. Vena isn't going to fix anything. I see him only sticking around long enough to collect a years salary with bonuses, and then disappear. That's only if the federal government doesn't get to him first. Stay tuned!

He’s here to make the stock price go up, whatever that takes.
