Make financial decisions based on what works best for you, not what someone else does. 6k shares is practically nothing compared to WDC's float size. And these executive executions happen all the time.
Following the actions of others is a good way to not get max value for your shares.

would not read much into this bc execs often have planned divestitures because they, and others, are subject to the SEC blackout period where they cannot sell stock
IMHO from business pov, the merger is a positive thing, so I would hold. I'm more worried about what's going to happen with the un-vested RSU. Will we get some cash or will they just disappear.
