Why would anyone donate to the United Way through the UP? If you want to donate to the United Way then do it on your own. Why let UP have the credit for the donations? They don't give a darn about any "at-risk" communities. Just ask the people in the 5th Ward in Houston. UP wants to talk out both sides of their mouth. They tell you to donate to help communities but then they are cutting jobs ki-ling communities. If the UP has a monetary goal, then millionaires Jim and Beth can contribute to meet the goal. They need to leave everyone else alone, especially since most of us don't know if tomorrow is our last day on the property. If you want to give money to anything through UP, give to the Friend to Friend network. At least the funds go to our own employees in need.

A thousand F yous for United Way! Their leaders are rich! Salvation Army is a more respectable charity if you're looking to help people. The crazy religious elders there care about slurping from the wealth through, don't want to look like hypocritical A holes!
Wikipedia has much to say about United way , past EEOC complaints, se-ual harassment, high paid executives.
Empower.global. A good charity, have schools, orphanages, etc , in Thailand and other countries.
The united way has huge overhead and pays there executives very well. If you want to give to a charity there are much better charities out there that actually use the money for good. No sense giving money to make another exec rich!
Never gave any money to United way.
I send Friends network $ a paycheck deduction automatically every month. They helped me both times I needed it for health reasons.
