Quiet Quitting Result of Bad leadership

Facts- American workers are still hard workers
Good luck with shifting workforce offshore!

Beckers Health - The poll found that global employee engagement reached a record high in 2022 — but that does not mean the majority of employees are engaged. In the U.S., 31 percent of workers are engaged, 8 percent above the international average. However, 52 percent of workers say they are not engaged at work, and 17 percent report active disengagement.

Internationally, nearly 6 in 10 employees report disengagement — otherwise known as quiet quitting. Gallup estimates that this costs the global economy $8.8 trillion, or 9 percent of the global GDP.

There’s no reason to go above and beyond. Might get a 3% raise instead of 2% but you won’t keep up with inflation either way. But sir Andrew sh---y will get another 50mil in bonuses

The quality of employees will be directly proportional to the quality of life you maintain for them.

I don’t like the term quiet quitting as it creates distance from leadership and puts the onus solely on employees. I wouldn’t be surprised if the term was started by someone on management.

Speaking for myself, I haven’t quit. However, I’m not putting time into activities that do not benefit me.

Meetings that go round and round with no outcome other than another meeting - I don’t attend or I do attend and spend the hour reading something that actually improves me.

Repetitive work - I give to someone else. Spending that time honing my skills.

A whiff of nonsense and i focus my attention somewhere else.

I don’t set around and do nothing. I’m prioritizing me, while leadership gets their 💩 together. Onus is on them - If/when they do I’ll be more than happy to focus on their priorities.

I began quiet quitting in March when they laid off my high performing team mate who also had stage IV cancer but showed up to work every single day, never complained, met her metrics, and shifted her hours to start working at 4:00am to make them happy. This company does not care about its people. I’ve also been tirelessly searching for another job since then as well.

Phonyism - they all could get an academy award, nice to your face and backstabbers in reality. But they “truly care”

Mental health is more important under poor leadership!! Do whatever it takes to take care of yourself!

These new so called "leaders" shamelessly putting down American workers and giving praise to offshore teams publicly. They failed to acknowledge the fact - without the hard-working American employees in the last few decades, this org would not have been able to achieve the growth today. This is the type of arrogant leadership trying to run this org to the ground then bail - much like they did at GSK. Forbes published it yet the Board just blindly going along - dynamics of the fox/ferret scenario sharing the loot.

People are simply minimalists, some more than others. Quiet quitting is more about discontent than disengagement, we mostly have good reason to complete assignments well. We just stopped doing more than the minimum, after all what use are front line managers if it is not to assign work to staff? Poor benefits, poor raises and cronyism are the three hallmarks of UHG/Optum and why we quit. Meanwhile I am smart enough to get back my earnings by working less!

I am for sure quiet quitting while also actively seeking employment elsewhere. I am quiet quitting because I do not believe this company cares about their employees at all and would not go above and beyond for me so why should I? I'm salary and often work more than my 40 hours with no compensation because of "client needs". I've been cut before because of "business needs" and have no flexibility anymore due to "scheduling needs". I am just not proud at all to say I work for UHG/Optum. There are no morals or ethics here anymore. They only care about record profits and upper leadership bonuses. Very sad.
