Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I was laid off from Optum after 2 years and I have a question…

I was let go from Optum after 2 years. But I began to see the company was so toxic about 1 month in. I kept working and gave it a chance and thought I could voice my concerns as to what I was seeing. I was quickly met with racism, bullying, screaming at me, gas lighting, micromanaging and other toxic behavior by DEI hired supervisors that were not qualified to be leaders. I saw many patients suffer the consequences.
I began to quiet quit and purchased a mouse mover and only did bare minimum work, recorded my team calls with management. I only had work to last an hour or 2 of the day.
I started this in April of 2023. I filled my day with visiting out local pool, running errands, sitting on my patio journaling about my escape plan and for the moment I had a job. I used them for paychecks to meet several financial milestones.
I have yet to receive my boxes to return my equipment.
My question is … should I send my mouse mover in the box with my equipment back to Optum?
It sure served its purpose and I certainly got my $12.99 moneys worth.
What do you guys think? 🤔🧐🤨💭💬
I would like to just send them 1 more subtle message about how badly they treat employees.
And before this I was a good employee. I don’t sell my soul for toxic corporate greed. What do you think?

OP here, just another tid bit, I didn't slack off, I completed all work put in front of me, I just didn't beg them for more.
Did I do my job? most certainly! I let others bust their butt's to try and get into good graces or work hard for a measly 1% or 2% raise and a small bonus. I let them figure out that the reviews were stacked and 85% of the company were ranked 3's even if they were high performers only so the company didn't have to pay a higher bonus. If they were going to do backflips to try to gain momentum in this company only to be laid off after all their loyalty given to this company after many years then I let them have at it. Remember they put impossible metrics on us and other people did their jobs in the quickest way possible and INCORRECTLY to make those metrics to shine a light on their bonus's or trying to secure their jobs at Optum RX. Who do you think suffered the most in that scenario? That's right, the PATIENTS! and my other team mates.
How do you think that worked out for them? This website tells you. We are humans/employees but to them we are numbers only to be snuffed out when the heat or pressure is put on them o r they are done with you.
I completed all work , didn't have an attendance problem, and I worked hard to learn the job with minimal sub par training. This company was all about profit.
You welcome-
Stepping off my soapbox now and you can sit down too while you are at it.

Handle name “Taylor Swift” lol - have you heard of bad parenting leads to bad behavior?
You maybe using reverse psychology to attack/isolate/discredit the OP, we all learn from the master of deception - those at the top in charge of this org. Sadly!

When corruption bribery occurred under the current leadership at GSK- the only way to right this ship is to rid off the captain in charge.

OP left others to pick up the slack, took money without earning it, and now uses the toxic culture as a cover-up (to themselves and others) for their deceitful actions.

OP is trying to sound clever here, aiming for supportive remarks. In truth, this is just one of several reasons why OP lost their job.

OP keeps boasting about this, and if my memory serves me right, OP is on a "Do Not Hire" list.

Karma has a soothing way of working things out.

Proof?? You have to be kidding me? Just google this : "UnitedHealth Group, Allina Health criticized for digital employee monitoring practices". A few ruin it for many.

I was quite quitting for a few years before I left this toxic h3ll hole (OptumRx). Was always afraid to get the mouse jiggler b/c somebody told me that IT can tell if you have it. I found other creative ways to keep myself in the green though LOL. Sometimes I do miss those three hour lunches.

I cheated once so I could buy a pack of Marlboros when I was 17. That $2.90 taught me a life long lesson. Trust me when I say, INTEGRITY matters a lot. Do your best and you will not be disappointed. This site is bad for anyone's health and career

It seems you matched the zero integrity meter.

Optum currently runs reports and knows exactly who is using a mouse mover or any weighted object on the keyboard. Maybe, this is the reason you lost your job.

Do you really think the desktop support person is really going to care about your mouse mover? That grand, "subtle" message you've created in your head will be lost upon that person.

You should keep it. I have a feeling you'll need it at your next gig.

I agree with you 100% about getting even with mgmt who discriminates against those who speak up against their cronyism and ineffectiveness! I think they know people are quiet quitting but insurance is such a cash cow they don’t care. So put up with the BS as long as needed and then you get even awaiting the consequences. Be glad you’re gone and now get back to being a productive employee somewhere else with an upward career path!

HR simp is that you implying that I’m a slacker? I forgot to mention I bought the mouse mover in April of 2023 prior to that I worked many hours OT to be met with pushing of more work onto me, seeing my coworkers being laid off after 7 years and more after they are at a loss as what to do after selling their souls to this corrupt organization. I gave up. I took extra long lunches, naps, watched movies from my living room too. And I’m below a grade 25, I don’t matter to this org

Michael J Fox said once : “Life is what you put into it and how much you take out of it. You put in more than is expected, and you take out less than you want.” You have much to learn.

Maybe if you worked harder the walk to the Pool would have been out your back door.
