It's true that some guys in China got N+7 in last round.
Just because qualcomm gave N *2 weekslast time doesnt mean its the same dumfu-k.. this is confirmed i know of colleagues who got layed off and they showed me.. its N the number of years + 3 months eg N= 1 u will get 4 months pay. Plus u get nov rsus
Correction to my previous post. I was wrong. According to Taiwan labor laws, N should be in months but the maximum severance cannot exceed 6 months.
So there is a post on UDN with a sample Mutual Termination Contract ... I think this is a spoof. Today's date is 9/21/23. The letter mentions a last date of 11/30/23. According to Taiwan labor laws, if the employee has worked for more than 3 years, they must be given a 30-day advanced notice. I don't see the logic behind giving a 2+ months warning. In California, there is the WARN active which mandates a 60-day notice. This is what Qualcomm followed for the May 17 layoffs. I also don't see the logic for Qualcomm to be much more generous to APAC than to USA employees. In the USA, they were given 2*N weeks. The news articles claim then are given N+3 to N+7 months. This completely doesn't make sense.
Also, the letterhead says "Qualcomm" but the company is "Qualcomm Semiconductor Limited." There is a big difference between the two. The letterhead should match the company name exactly. This seems very sloppy.
In the past, Qualcomm has offered N*2 weeks so it doesn't look like your information is correct.
N is number of service years. That is how many MONTHs of pay as severance
