Has anyone that was laid off in August received their email for severance package yet?

Called HR and sat on hold for 50+ minutes before giving up while listening to the recording "your call is important to us". Either understaffed or under trained to handle the volume of calls or issues.

Be prepared for a gap in pay and benefits after 10/21 because it will take a while for them to process severance and setup payroll. The last pay check will be much smaller for those paid semi-monthly (10/31). Regular pay will only be up through 10/21 but you will have full deductions for benefits up through 10/31 (taxes withheld may be a little lower as a result). It will negatively impact families during the holidays and tough inflation economy while also needing to cover full cost of medical and prescriptions until COBRA coverage is setup retroactively. Make sure to have some emergency savings or credit available to cover the gap! Good luck to everyone and may God bless those impacted by this! I am blessed to be free from the toxic people, environment and job I was in. This change for me will be good for me and my family, even if a little challenging for a time. Take good care of yourselves, your family, your personal matters and spend quality time with those you love. In the end, this is what really matters in life❣️

I have only received the letter that my boss read off to me when she laid me off. Nothing further

It would be good to file a complaint at the federal and state levels since this impacts many colleagues in many states. They have failed on many levels in planning and managing this event and the negative impact on the colleagues who are still active even if not working. Not acceptable to make active colleagues blind to everything tied to their employment when other active colleagues have access to Colleague Zone and Workday. This is not compliant and fines should be levied.

Some good information, I spoke with my state Department of Labor today. They encouraged me to provide detailed information on my concerns with not having easy access to specific HR information such paystubs, 401 K elections, HSA, etc… They stated having to wait for an HR representative to open a ticket was considered unacceptable and could be a fine for each occurrence. They also encouraged me to email my former supervisor or appropriate next level with my concerns, then provide their response to the Department of Labor.

I called HR yesterday. It took me forever to get through, so many prompts now. I am literally checking my email every hour for severance email. I have all of my medical appts scheduled so I have all major visits done while we still have coverage. It saddens me, that they would put us in this situation as we enter Fall and the holiday season. Email i got on my last working day 8/14 clearly stated, that I would receive Severance email 30 days before Separation date of 10/21. What is going on? This doesn't seem as if they care. I wore my Heart pin everyday. We just have to keep praying.

I called today and wasn’t happy with what I learned. Severance packages will be emailed SOMETIME between 30 days before separation date and the day AFTER separation!!!! I was told this is due to the volume!! If you want a printed copy you need to print yourself. You are supposed to be able to sign and return electronically. I could not get an answer on how they are prioritizing processing (if being in batches done based on last day worked). This means we have the very real potential for a gap in pay (regular vs. severance payments) and benefits (ability to enroll in COBRA can’t happen until severance agreement is returned and processed). This will be terrible for those with the need to go to the doctors and get medications for their families in November (will show as “no insurance”…try to move appointments sooner if possible and get medications filled before the 10/31 coverage end date…also get dental work and glasses if needed, too). We get the joy of paying full price and processing claims through Aetna during the holidays to try to get our money back once COBRA kicks in (retro to 11/1). We may not be able to get our claims processed and money back for months due to higher volume for layoffs.

Haven’t rec’d anything yet and it’s 30 days today. But seeing how this was all executed I’m not surprised. They need to do better with this.

I think you should have something on 9/21 in your email. If you don't on that date definitely call HR.
