Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Layoffs by email

Due to the large number of people being affected this time, the layoff notice will be sent over email on a Sunday.

There will be no meeting invites or manager personally breaking the news.

This is legit. Corporations are following this de facto protocol in California due to CCI and legal implications. See Google and Meta. This is no longer 2017.

I'd prefer email option than awkward face2face meeting. There should be a settings option for 'layoff notice delivery style'.

I got a text from carnitas. It said "Adios. No severance. "

You would appear to not be telling the truth and your post would go against qualcomm protocol of the past. An email will be sent BUT you will be asked to attend a meeting last minute. At the meeting you will be told you are being let go… an HR rep will review cobra (health care) options and you will be given info on severance packages. This occur on small layoffs and the last major layoffs where over 2500 people were let go in 2017

I don't go to office for work ... prefer WFH. Why would I want to go to the office to get laid off ? Email is just fine.

I guess the OP doesn't really know anything. Just fear mongering

I’m sure that isn’t right but personally I’d prefer it, just me. I don’t need face to face. It doesn’t change anything for me.
