Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

BC Cuts

I heard that their will be deep cuts to make room for VMWARE associates that are client facing. Is this really the case?

Broadcom is not known for large lay offs. They freeze employees out. It’s not uncommon for someone to just turn up missing, only to find out they were no longer employed by BC.

"loyalty? No. Bottom line is what he cares about. And a bloated team of thousands of salespeople does not contribute to that. I don’t think you’re aware of how slim and efficient BC teams are."

God the bickering here is obnoxious. And thank you BC for having such a nasty reputation. Gave me the message to get out of VMW when the getting was good. You BC folks sound absolutely miserable. Glad I won't be a part of that.

@8lkv+1oHTHZH9 seems to think this was a post from a VMW sales rep.

Here is the true copium: you are depending on Hock being loyal. Hock is not loyal. He consumes, exhausts, and trades up. He's got his eye on a new, younger, blonde.

“Broadcom account teams should be concerned. Hock's use for a sales force that extorted extreme revenue increases out of customers is over. He will discard and blame them. VMW sales will be positioned as the good guys to make everything right with the customers.”

I’d like a hit of your copium - thinking you know Hock’s plan. VMW sales teams are bloated. There’s a reason VMW was bought out. And it isn’t because of how amazing VMW sales teams are.

"VMware reps will join BC, find they don’t fit the culture and leave."

That's an understatement. I went to the VMW office last week. The difference between the BC folks and the VMW people were like night and day. The BC employees seemed very intense. I have heard the layoffs never stop at BC and so these people probably live a life of fear in not knowing if they will be next.

As for cuts at BC? Seems only fair. If they plan to ruin VMW then some pain seems appropriate on their side too.

Broadcom margins are impressive, dig deeper and look at the gross margins of the software group only, 92%!

Broadcom sales teams are lean and adaptable to what uncle hock wants and needs. The way BC does sales is simply not the same as how VMware reps conduct business.
VMware reps will join BC, find they don’t fit the culture and leave.

Maybe that is why there is no communication for the ADs yet.

If the VMW sellers are any good, it might happen. The ex-CA sellers are order takers and contract administrators. They have no clue how to sell value... LMFAO.

BC software is already very lean and running at the revenue per employee that Hock is seeking. VMW is fat beyond belief and will have to have at least 12k-15k people leave to get the profitability that Hock expects

I'd be moderately uncomfortable if I were a BC account director or supporting them right now.
