Thread regarding VMware layoffs

All the best employees are leaving

Broadcom will get a much different company than it expected, at least when it comes to its workforce.

Kim Hock Un is buying the codebase and the customer base. The VMware workforce is a toxic asset and will be managed as such.

"Broadcom will get a much different company than it expected"

Remember, they've already met with the inept VMW 'leadership' team, so they know exactly what to expect. This is why I'm very concerned about the impression that Hock's leadership team has about our talent pool. It's more like a shallow talent puddle, if you need modern B2B SaaS software expertise. Those that are still here have few options.

With swallowed pride and so many rejection emails, it's going to be a very tough experience. People showing desperation would be badly hurt in this market. It's better to take severance and wait for the new year

Are they? Really? I must work with a bunch of real numpties then, seeing as not one of them has left.

The only reason to leave now is if you have little tenure, therefore small severance package but you get the jump on the jobs market.

It's stupid to leave one month before the closing of the deal. At least we can get a severance package. Of course for administrative colleagues is tougher. But we are still here. Many of us.
