FYI it is impossible to root for this company when they do nothing but pilfer ideas from domestic employees, pass them along to outsourced or siloed moneywasting twits that can't even maintain the processes, then layoff 5000. Fix it and maybe the posts here will look different. Remember the part of the town hall where someone recommended hiring and promoting those smarter than them? We're waiting
I feel the complete opposite about his first townhall. I thought it was refreshing to have someone come in and tell you how it is. The last few leaders focused on people and Brian seems more business focused. To right the ship you need someone like that. I was energized and you could feel that buzz from others in the room. Too many on here are Debbie downers with no idea how the real world works. Companies layoff. Everyone does it. It su-ks if it happens to you and I know from experience. But that's life. Find the next opportunity stay positive and good things lay ahead. For those still here have some pride. Root for your company instead of trying to tare it down with your misery.

This guy has no idea what he's talking about. This is not a bank. He needs to realize that in the health insurance world, utilization management is the actuary and proverbial accountant of clinical delivery. I suggest he read up on how utilization management maintains the fiscal integrity of the Healthcare system and stems rising cost of Healthcare. He seems to believe only optimizing care around individuals greater than 65yo will reduce cost pressure. This is a red herring! The way to lower cost is actually to implement robust utilization management and steward those less than 65yo to better health maitenance so the need for resources decreases because the population is healthier in advanced age. This guy seems so short-penny than long dollar!
Brian seems dismiss the fact that provider abrasion is never a good thing. When members are at the hospital, they interact with staff dorectly. If this company makes their work even harder, they will bad mouth your insurer and tell the member how the hospital/ provider wishes it could do more but your shi**ty health plan means you get a subpar experience. Brand loyalty will go out the window, and people will turn to the reliability of their Amazon two-day delivery prime Healthcare service that doesn't even exist yet.

BK always had to have the last word and came out of the gate disrespectful of the time of other presenters and not at all shy about his strategy of irritating customers and providers to make money as needed (should work for a good six weeks till we start bleeding even more money from lapses and lost sales). All I have to say is I wasn't one of the ones that was laid off, but everything I have had to deal with from the one person in my department that was laid off, has caused me so many sleepless nights and at my age and my sixties I don't want to deal with this. She was young she was knowledgeable and she was a go-getter. I was hoping to retire in 5 months and I think that's coming a lot sooner than expected. This company is not making good decisions for their company. I can't take this extra work and at my age I'm not going to and I hope everybody else in my position at my age or not does the same thing.

Run…it’s a blessing in disguise! I have had many doctors offices say how much they do not like working with Aetna and you get the run around when you call as a member. Telling. Working there will only get worse if all they are focused on is cutting costs with layoffs as the default when they have allowed so much dysfunction and waste for too long! Shame on the “leaders” focused on just themselves and the internal politics managing upward and ignoring their teams and colleagues! Where is the courage??!! Who wants to work there now??!! Naive 20 something’s I guess. They look youthful, cost a lot less, and won’t question a thing! Severance for me, please.

I'm sorry that these layoffs will continue. I was let go in August and the sleepless nights and anxiety this causes is so unhealthy. Good luck to all of you. I hope you find peace in all of this.
