You can accept the offer but postpone the on-board day to somewhere after the merge closed. If your offer or position gets withdrawal later, you lose nothing. Otherwise you need to think about relocation which is hard for some.
Very risky. All pseudo managers feeling identity crisis. Also, no one is hiring ex-VMware unless you already have some connection.
