I thought we were about to be done with the New Orleans office once and for all. As a Latoya-refugee, I sold my home in New Orleans when I moved to Houston ready to never return. But, on Wednesday, the SVP announced that Shell will occupy a majority of the new 120,000sqft of space in the River District. Who are these people? And how does one get those jobs?

I would move back to New Orleans. All it will cost is a daily shrimp po-boy and a cup of turtle soup.....okay add some bread pudding with whisk-y sauce
There are planes leaving daily back to NO. What are you waiting for?
Would just expect that new building let's them spend less $ per seat (even less sqft/person).
I’m going back. Houston su-ks.
120k sqft, On the low end that’s 400 FTE, high end 1700. I don’t think that’s staffing up from current level, it’s just maintaining presence in a state we have significant infrastructure. I wonder if we will yet again heavily invest in the bridge and RTOC in a building we don’t own? Thoughts?
They got promotions and bonuses when they moved staff to Houston (cost cutting). And now they will get promotions and bonuses as they offer people the option to move back (employee engagement)
… you can’t make this s*** up
Guess that’s why we have re-orgs every two years.
I was told Houston would be an “upgrade” to New Orleans when I moved a couple years ago and have not found that to be true at all!
Horrible traffic, sterile campus (WCK), way too many people etc. I would move back in a heartbeat
What happen to cutting cost? Relocated staff to Houston first and now moving them back to NOLA? What a genius plan. I’m so done with this company
There's been a lot of attrition since they moved subsurface jobs out of New Orleans and over to Houston in 2020. I bet if they offered the option to move back, many would take it.
