During my one-on-one sync-up meeting, I voiced concern that there was low morale in the group because of the rumors of the layoffs. My manager told me that the layoffs have been canceled due to the extension of the deal with Apple. They will be holding team building activities and improve the communication to allay the concerns.

And yeah as an Sr. Engineer, I knew 2 months back that Apple will sign the 3 year deal…also the last year is just 25% not all the complete modern requirement.
You might be at least a VP to have one on one with SVP

Sorry folks, a deal that size doesn’t happen overnight. They knew the deal was coming and was likely part of the calculations when they determined targets. Don’t expect this to have any impact
The rumor I heard was, they will actually double to make the stock pop, even more so the bigwigs can sell out and make a fortune in preparation of being fired
Board & C class only look at stock price. With aapl revenue flowing till 2025 stock should hold 104 and thus big layoff is off for near future.
Are your team works related to the Apple deal?
No confirmation from my side but definitely there has to be some relaxation on the layoff side. With the multi-billion dollar revenue bump, it's obvious they don't need to layoff the same number of people to meet the same financial metrics.
I haven't heard that the layoffs have been canceled. That said, people here seem to be a lot more relaxed with the Apple deal.

Have you looked at the stock price....exec worries about the stock price because that's where their majority of compensation comes from ..bigger the layoffs higher the stock price would go..so be ready for a major layoff
