Dog and Pony Show for the CEO

Gotta love this company. Instead of beefing up staffing to get customers help, they beef up staffing to put on a show for the CEO and his cohort. We are blowing through hours like it's no ones business and the store still looks like cr-p. What happened to the right people at the right time and the right place? They got every maint guy from every store in the area to even clean the AC vents with decades caked on dust and spray paint the ceiling tiles. Throw hours at the seasonals to do go backs. They look so lost with 5 items in their hand. In the end they can't finish and they'll throw everything in the stockroom and fitting rooms. Literally lipstick on a pig. I don't know who is worse, the CEO or our tyrant store manager.

ISM was such a great idea, sure everyone can do everything. Of course, when everyone is responsible for doing everything, then no one is responsible. Out DVP was just fired for the terrible operational condition of the stores in the north west and we will be on our fifth DVP in less than five years. We used to have a warehouse that helped process our merchandise because our dock is too small and the regional team closed it down and now we have nothing but cartons jammed everywhere for days. Good luck on finding anything for fulfillment or getting your markdowns done. But were doing great, just as everyone.

Macys had to get rid of they operations part of the store. As a former manager in NJ , it’s a disaster what Macys has become. The days of doing for the store clients is over. Bring in temps that don’t work and hope for the best is the new way. Standards are a thing of the past.
Woke is right , customers bad. Till chairman’s show up.

Goodbye Jeff and not soon enough for me. Another Christmas with this clown at the helm. Any corporate visit is a waste of time and resources. I have no time for any of these people. Unless your here to help put merchandise out or fix the out of control theft then stay in NY.

Standard procedure or not. Sadly it's part of what's wrong with retail. I've been in long enough to know that's the usual routine. Good thing it's almost dead. The fakery is obnoxious, it's obviously in deep sh-t and they're acting like it's not. The building is falling apart, predates the adjacent mall and they have been badly patching it for years and issues keep popping up. The roof springs a leak every time it rains, the sprinklers have bursted, there's an obvious mold issue, one of the stockrooms reeks of sewer smell (and it bursted once getting dirty water all over), the elevators work when they want to. He needs to see the back end of things not just the pretty picture they are painting him.

How long have you been in retail? All retailers do this. It's standard procedure and will never change.

This must be about the Millenia store. They have a Jeff G visit this week. Florida is the worst when it comes to the dog and pony show for the CEO.

Macy's has ben doing this nonsense for years. The stores are falling apart. But when its visit time, there is a sudden push to clean everything from the stock rooms to the registers to the fitting rooms. Then everything goes back to falling apart
