Thoughts on why so many recent exec level women are external hire?

Majority of those external hires are white females. bp doesn't take the time to really develop females to take on those roles. It would take much time and commitment. Easier to hire them external to meet their targets. I am sure they have their bonus based on meeting certain gender numbers.
And it's too difficult to get that high as a woman from within.
No, that one is easy. Because he wanted to make the numbers show gender equality progress.
