On the beach for the last 2 months…

How much longer do I have until the axe falls?

Waiting is not good for your resume. Fill the time taking certifications, new skills.

Consider yourself gone already. You'll get a meeting invite from your Practice Head the first week of October. There might or might not be an HR representative on the call. If I were you, I would start cleaning your laptop of any personal stuff and download whatever info you might need as part of your "transition". Get the contact details of key people that will serve as good references and start your job search right away. Move your network as if you were out of the job already for 6 months with no food on your table and no money to care for your family. The market is really bad right now, so don't underestimate how difficult it could be finding a new 'acceptable' gig. Act with urgency and take this very seriously.

That's a long time on the bench. I'm surprised they haven't been in touch yet to encourage you to get on a new account.
