Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

The Write-Downs will Exceed $5 billion - Heads will Roll

Bernard and Murray have lost shareholders more than the equivalent of the GDP of most 3rd world countries (ex China, maybe). Archea, Clean Energy, Hydrogen, Turbines where the wind doesn’t blow and solar panels where the sun doesn’t shine (Germany). Other wonderful virtue signaling projects include cook stoves in Africa and plastics to energy that relied on flux capacitor-type technology first previewed in the movie Back to the Future in the 80s. All virtue signally and nearly all duds. When you do the math, the write downs should greatly exceed $5 billion - likely closer to $10 bln. Think of the legitimate carbon sequestration technology that could have been deployed with that kind of money, or other things that could have been implemented to legitimately reduce carbon emissions. This is insane, and if anyone from BL’s leadership team survives this it will be a tragedy of epic proportions. Good thing Bernard didn’t pay the pensioners more because that $50 mln would have made all the difference 🤣.

When will Murray, William Lin, the guy from Africa, Julia, the Lawlor Bro, AND Mark Crawford resign? This is absolute madness. Bring back the respect, bring back Gilvary.

Remember the Guy from Africa, which I can’t legitimately remember His name, has been riding alongside BL during his philandering journey. Did he speak up? No. Did he step in to protect his colleagues, no. These are not the leadership qualities that we need and this is why the whole LT needs to go. They said nothing, they did nothing. EVERYONE knew and they sat by and watched. Bullocks.

We are BP. Stiff upper lip. Sweep it all under the rug and soldier on as if nothing happened.

Our stock and financial performance lag competitors by 50% or worse and have for a decade. We remain dead last in most metrics. I think Shell or Exxon would have swooped in already with a takeover but they just don't like our assets. The Board should really look at what it would take to sell the company to a better operator.

Heads need to roll because employees have lost all faith in management. If the LT doesn’t undergo a major shake up - including head of HR needing to be OUT (who’s been covering up for him all these years??) - I don’t want to continue working for this company. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

How does this work into BP’s ESG score? Was BL inclusive - chasing guys and girls, and all girls not just the hot ones? He sure did bring all of himself to work every day.

Don’t forget about the carbon credit deals they did in Mexico where they tried to lowball the local farmers and pocketed millions. It was so crazy, they gave them some of the money back, likely making only a 100% return in 1 year.
