Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Contractors

No one has commented on the status of contractors or at least I haven’t seen or heard anything. Has anyone else?

That's pretty sad. I know one contractor who has been with VMware longer than most employees and has a key asset that spans across the entire company that no one else in this company has. VMware has some great contractors and it would be a shame if they were all let go.

If they didn’t bother to hire you FTE, why would they make you an offer? It’s not personal, it’s just sad business.

Gone, if I was a contractor I would have been looking to apply for any open roles internally while actively looking else where. No contractors will survive day 1.

4 contractors in my team, my boss was going to get rid of them and was told not to so they can be cut at buyout and count as a cost saving.
