So my boss moved my 1:1 up by a week and encouraged me to look internally and externally for another position. I am a high performing RN located in the Southeast. We have a good working relationship and I feel like leadership is telegraphing more cuts soon.

If you’re in Rhymes with shmorgia pretty sure they’re trying to get nurses in PR ramped up to take on our CM jobs
In regards to the recent post about the racist manager, I think and bet, we have the same manager. I've never trusted him (RK) and never will. I've caught him in many lies and he will tell you anything but the truth . Getting out as soon as I can and I strongly urge others to do the same!
May I ask what division you are in? I am a RN in southeast too
At least you have a boss that give you a heads up... My boss in Cardiology wouldn't do that. He's very racist and preaches the Trump gospel and plays favorites! And is not trusted by any of us.... So Kudos to your boss!
Yep your number is up. My boss did this for me 4 years ago. I was so grateful as we were going to close on our house at the same time I was getting cut. Look internally but understand it's all short lived. I was cut in Aug.
Yep, your boss is telling you without telling you. If you are a credentialed RN it may be axing time. Med-Express now under Optum got rid of all their RNs and staff the sites with CNA’s/LPN’s and now have only 1 RN in charge of each site mostly. So I’m sorry you are experiencing this and this looks to be the way going forward for frontline workers.
Your boss is trying to tell you without telling you.
The RNs at our urgent care were all impacted by the August layoffs, those of us clinical staff remaining were promised replacement staff (LPN, medic) that were posted briefly and then vanished.
Here’s the kicker… These positions were posted over a week prior to the layoffs, and we inquired as to why they just appeared with no acknowledgment, a coworker actually stumbled upon them… We were told we were “bulking up staff for flu season”, then lost a cumulative 26 years of clinical experience before any replacement MAs were trained.
Slap in the face to the frontline workers and the biggest shame is that ultimately the many rural communities our centers are in will be the ones feeling the repercussions.
Wondering why auditors (?) from UHG came and were photographing our facilities this week, been in other states recently as well.
We were acquired by Optum a few years ago, unfamiliar with the corporate aspects of all of this. Does anyone have any input on what this could mean for the clinic as a whole going forward? The vibe is WAY off :/
This is so sad when the shortage of RN is across the board, yet this org. would rather put a bandage to fix the financial bottom line than doing the right thing. The leadership mindset is (and has been) let's cut across the board we will deal with resource gaps later. In constant reactive business model with zero proactive strategy. Good luck to all the RNs! You have worked hard to contribute to the revenue growth of this organization.
Sadly, this is expected under the unethical leadership.
You are getting cut. Nice your boss is giving you heads up. Many high performance nurses already cut.
