A lot of folks won’t know until after acquisition on 10/30, since laws in their countries require notification after acquisition is finalized. I’m assuming, they will make the announcements post acquisition and end employment 11/3. In the US, you’ll know your fate mid-October. Also, I’d assume access and credentials will be cut off ahead of the termination date, that’s typical to prevent misconduct.

I didn't catch Betsy say employment is going to be through Nov 3 ( Friday)
VMware is working with Broadcom to ensure employment is through Friday of that week.

I made the comment about it through Friday. I misspoke. She said specifically about making it through 1 Nov. This was in the Q&A of the APJ All Hands. A teammate mentioned that it wasn't discussed during the US All Hands.

Depends on the labour laws in your country, and the terms of a severance package - many layoffs are instant.

I didn't catch Betsy say employment is going to be through Nov 3 ( Friday). If so then we will be paid for those 3 days, i.e. Nov 1-3.

I hear they’re laying off everyone who attends the employee bash.

Betsy discussed this in the All Hands today.

We don't know. VMware is working with Broadcom to ensure employment is through Friday of that week.

This also solves the 1 Nov RSU vest topic.

But it hasn't been solidified.

It won't be immediately. It won't be before that week. This is all Broadcom. They can't fire you if you don't work for them. They are not firing you, just not extending your employment past the last day

Broadcom’s decision.

I would wager it would be pretty much as soon as you receive notice to reduce risk of sabotage. This is pretty standard stuff.
