Can't resist.... not sure how all Brian's will fare.... sorryX
Those Technical Brians are always stirring up trouble!
Yes. You have my personal guarantee that you are safe.
no one is safe
I am VCDX I don’t feel safe bro ..
They absolutely would. We saw the same with Microsoft earlier this year. They laid off literal authors and architects behind many features. Some of the brightest minds. I don't see Broadcom doing any differently.
You may be the resident expert in Widget, but if that Widget isn't high on the priority list for the product, then anyone can fill your role. Even if they don't do it as well.
There is no way they would let this level of technical talent leave.
Broadcom doesn't care what certs you have. They care about how much you're paid relative to what the team needs. Done.
Depends what you do at VMware today and whether that function is deemed "necessary" by Broadcom when this all shakes out. There were people with 20+ years of experience and tons of industry certs at Broadcom's other acquisitions (and more recently at Citrix, where Broadcom alum Tom Krause used the BC playbook) who were let go simply because they were in roles or departments that were targeted for reduction. It's all about numbers and necessity.
It depends what you can actually do, relative to others who do the same thing as you, not on what badges you have.
Technical Brian 💀
Certifications do not provide immunity from potential layoffs.
Sadly no, tech Brian.
Nope
