What did you think of the shift announcement today?
Does it mean more layoffs, less layoffs, nothing, something, genius, bs?

Shift needs to move faster, 1A announced profits and touting big pss customers they took from 1S.
It is both efficient and genius marketing. Just think with very little effort how many things can be spelled out with those simple letters that make such a powerful word.
Shift > take a letter away and you get a response about your next raise (sh*t)
Shift > substitute one letter for another and it is what the everyday worker gets while the Execs take home huge bonuses (Shaft)
Shift > remove two letters and you get what you should do when you hear the Exec psycho babble about no more layoffs so that you don't get hurt as you hysterically laugh (Sit)
Enough said. The marketing brilliance is astounding!
So glad they cut me (and are still paying me). Was already looking before they announced May RIF. Got a 30% raise to boot.
I would love to know how much money was wasted on the shift.
I'll lose my shift if the year end review asks my opinion about shift
I considered some leaders of higher quality until I saw them mindlessly selling '#insidetheshift'
Just bad timing to promote shift to outsiders. It's like company is getting employees to become parrots and sell shift on social media. Looking at all internal posts and videos screams 'pamp it'
I take a big shift every morning, first thing I do
An update logo of shift 2.0
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It's odd and heavy propaganda material. I agree with a previous post. The way they announced shift, had an anonymous voice to it. I don't see the c-suite or executive even mentioned about it. Usually it would have been presented during the townhalls or some 'bigger' 'quarterly' 'planned' event. I miss the real leaders who left or shown the door in the past 2 years. Seems like all credibility it lost. This new shift thing didn't stick well given the recent cost cutting efforts.
Is that a bird?
Is that a plane?
No, it's a shift!
Just imagine they anoumt of investments were made to come with this idea only to get destroyed by anonymous and ex employees. Probably some vps commented to here while the submit their resignation. It's time to focus on tech, any these guys spend 2+ quarters to come up with >>
I bet even your manager or their manager will not be able to fully articulate what the shift really is about. If an outsider would take a peek into sabres extra curriculars, I'm sure they'll laugh their hats off too.
...and while you do that, don't don't forget to submit your happy face picture of yourself from your latest vacation to corporate,so that they can post it on the internal webpage, to show how happy the employees are.
It's yet another photo op. Don't miss this or the next hashtag propaganda
It's the latest meme. Just like 'the sabre way'. If you or someone messed up, you say - it's the sabre way of doing things. And now you would say - we are in the shift.
If we don't get everything into the cloud by the end of the year we will be in the shift then. We will be up shift creek without a paddle. The shift will really hit the fan because shift flows downhill. We will be getting a shift sandwich in our next review.
it's probably a typo - there's an extra 'F'
Shift = bend over here it cums again
They're trying to shift everyone's attention away from all the debt, layoffs, and cr-p ton of old systems that are still doing work with some random concept made of hot air and BS. Is it working???
In devops, "shift right" means "test later" and "shift left" means "test sooner". The furthest right shift is replacing QA by customers testing in production. The furthest left shift is test defined requirements followed by test driven development.

Here's what the shift is. It is just a stupid ">>" logo and some marketing bs. I dont know why companies waste money on this sort of thing. The said they wasted months on it but they already had created the logo in February so what did they waste months doing? Did it take months to create a couple of posters, stickers, cups and cookies.
I really doubt they spent weeks on it because they got it backwards and chose the right shift which makes numbers smaller instead of the left shift that makes numbers bigger. They could have figured that out in 10 seconds but they wasted months and chose the wrong direction shift.
It is really embarrassing.
what is this shift ?
"Shift" is the new buzz word being touted by consultants... Grasping at straws rather than coming up with something concrete to make a difference to the Org.. God help us All....
Ashamed Sabre spends money to make a new design of >>, new desktop screen pushed out to all, hype video, cafeteria celebration etc., yet continues to lay off key people who make our products.
There are no details.
Can you pass some details on what this Shift is? Already outside company...
Have the last 5 years not been "seeking for an idea"?
All that suspense and in the end it’s just a truck load of BS!
When you introduce a new concept or what is a allegedly a big new idea you need to sell that idea to the workforce. So far, we got an email. To me, that isnt it
To me “shift” is the same as “pivot” which is to do something different and not status quo. The corporate goal is about the bottom line - increasing revenue and decreasing cost. So this “shift” could mean the sales team will seek more customers haha yea right it is most likely about cost savings - yup layoffs as executives get more bonuses.
