Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Europe September 2023 Layoff Thread

Many Nielsen employees like me in Europe are on edge these days. Rumor say that they will announce some countries next week and some in early October. Apparently, local leaders have no voice here, and selection is purely based on money. All of us are just numbers, and it is not yet clear how many should be cut until they reach their expected overhead. I heard that the downsizing in each market is pretty aligned with what DK said (9%), so if you are 30 in country A, up to 3 positions will be cut.

we had more than 100 layoffs. 9% of approx 14,000 is a big chunk. Assuming we were even at 14,000 employees after the first round this year.

Just calculate what severance you're entitled to, spend a day a week researching new jobs, work to rule and wait...

That isn't how they're doing the math....the US had upwards of 100 layoffs last week....that's just in one country.
