Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Where do you go after NetApp?

I feel the skills required to work here are too niche to broadly apply in the industry. Whether it's a silent or a mass layoff, I'm certain another round of layoffs is on the way (be looking out by end of August).

Looking at job listings and hearing how tough it's been to find a good job has me anxious about getting back into the job market. This coupled with the knowledge that I've spent years building domain knowledge that may not lend itself to landing me a new position sets a grim outlook when layoffs come.

Where do you go after NetApp? And for those of you who have been laid off, how's the job search been?

I was a long time NetApper and left a few years ago on my own, since it was only a matter of time before I ended up on a list. I’ve been promoted twice since I left, which was more than I got at NetApp in all those years. Greener pastures are out there.

Look for a company in IT that doesn't do constant layoffs, it makes for a very bad culture within management and IC.

Depends on your skill set. I left netapp and have work at an amazing company.

Your concerns are well founded , it's only downward spiral from here.

Was laid off in Jan got two job offers a week afterwards and I'm working them both at the same time. Couldn't be a better time to be in the job market than now.

I recall it was August 2020. But Op said "certain" wondering what's behind that besides a vibe.

Curious why you're so certain about end of August?
