Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Layoff planning

Layoff planning underway.
Old timers should be concerned. It's not if but when ELT want you out.

Any factual basis for this or is this just somebody talking out of their a-s?

Is the Fall 2023 layoff factual enough?

ELT is he-l bent on getting rid of many still around, especially old timers, as the company steer toward a different business. They will not disclose the real plan because everyone will jump ship and they won't get as much bonuses and RSUs as they can while sinking the ship.

So if you are still around, with layoffs happening on a regular basis, do you still want to stick around? It is not a matter of IF, it's a matter of when.

would Teradata require 7500+ employees to deliver this product and service?

TD still following the rank and yank model. So it will never end.

It will be quarterly for small purges and end of year for larger purges to shore earnings.

Fact: TD has had layoffs in October and/or November for the last 5 years. Why would this year be any different?

If you are ELT, you already know the answer because you initiated...stop asking to troll us.

Otherwise, just ask your manager and see if you get a straight answer or the company line. Ask probing questions. You will see them squirm.

ELT will try to keep it quiet as to not show their obvious plan and pattern. They don't think they need any knowledgeable productive workers. All work are fake work to maintain morale and justify their existence. They just need customers not more development.

People on this board cannot say everything but they reveal what they know. Where there is smoke, there's fire.

Think through things logically. ELT wants the stock price to go up so they keep their jobs.

Are there any new customers that would push the stock price up? Nope...

Is there any new groundbreaking tech being released? Nope...

Is it 10000% easier to lay employees off to juice the stock price than anything else? Yep...

Without a strong board of directors to see through the nonsense ELT is putting out they're getting away with it. Unfortunately...
