Thread regarding VMware layoffs

is there any way to know the head count per product?

For example. how many people are in NSX, carbon black, vsan, etc?

I am sure each VP/SVP has the head counts but for those who don't have access to those numbers readily, is there a way to find out?

one can look up the org chart and count it, but is there an easier way to do it?

It makes sense to know since there could be some groups that have relatively less amount of people but generate quiet a bit of revenue. For example, NSX and VSAN groups don't seem to have large groups of people and their head count might only be less than 5 or 10% of the total head count, but they generate probably more than 50% of the total revenue. So those groups might be "safer" when it comes to RIF considerations

Maybe OP is curious to know how many will leave the BC payroll when units get divested. They can get to their goal of reducing headcount fast when there is divestiture. With Legal IT Finance HR Marketing and Ops plus divestiture we can get halved quickly in lightning speed. It’s a sad sad thought but most likely the outcome :( But there has to be a bright side for the early departures too 🤞

“You can look it up on Source. Search the name of the SVP and it gives you the total and breakdown. For example EUC has 2020: 1791 FTE/9 Interns/2020 AWF”

Not quite. That does not include sales, PSO, CSX, field engineering. The number will be higher than that.
