If we are laid off or leave for a new role before we are paid our H1 bonuses would be be forfeiting it?

Sales Commission is different than bonus and you should get paid for all earned commission when you are RIF'd.
You need to be on the payroll at the time the bonus is paid. If you are, you’ll get it. If you’re not, you won’t. Simple.
