Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Vena doesn’t care about anyone that posts on this board

Let’s admit it folks, you can say anything you want about Jimbo. He’s worth at least $10 billion, yes billion with a B. None of your comments here are going to change anything he does. We’re all F***ed.

He’s old. I give him 4 years. He’ll beat himself to death with all the pats on the back he gives himself.

He’s not worth billions, but that’s beside the point. He, nor any of the executives or board care what’s posted here or what the Glassdoor reviews say. They only care about profits; period. They don’t care what the employees think, and with the exception of a few large customers; what they think either. Vena will be here a few years, wreak havoc with the operation, and retire with another 100 million in the bank. Someone else will come along and the cycle repeats. I am afraid this is the new realty at UP.

For what its worth theres speculation Vena is part of a plan involving Keith Creel. Not saying the hatchet man will or wont make more cuts, but theres more to their plans than is being discussed here.

The article stating he'll be different as a CEO is garbage. After all of the damage he caused, why change now? He has too many years of working under Harrison, so I just don't buy it. The editor of that article is most likely trying his hardest to change the narrative and image of Vena. The reality of it all is that the investors brought him back for a reason, and is the same reason that brought him in the first time. Vena showed the industry who he really is, and why he can't be trusted. PSR was cash grab for the investors, that's all it ever was. Vena hasn't changed, and he won't change just because he became the CEO.

There was already an article stating Jim Vena is gonna be a different CEO than he was a COO. We will see if it is to be believed or not. A huge tell though is several people felt the need to publish an article stating such. This is the WORST shape I've ever seen UP in, I am not alone in this observation. Yeah it could get worse as it is now a day by day operation that UP barely moves freight right now, and if it gets any worse more needed and not easily replaceable employees are just gonna quit.

Wow! That number went up! Just a fact for you. His net worth is in the very low MILLIONS, not billions. An article was published a few years ago saying he was the 9 billion dollar man. I'd like to know where the 10 billion dollar idea came from. The 9 billion dollar idea was the idea of the profits his PSR plan would generate. It has NOTHING to do with his net worth! I'm still waiting to see the cost savings the UP made versus the cost of derailment clean-up and litigation costs. It's funny how that hasn't been mentioned. So Vena may not care what other people think of him, but the industry and the unions do!
