Do you think there will be a mass exodus from existing employees due to this layoff? Was that their intent all along?

I'm not a job hopper. I like to settle in, do my work and collect my check. I score 5's, deliver consistently and get along great with people. I quit Optum. I expect my organizations to have my back if I am achieving what they want. Particularly if they are highly profitable. Optum has made it clear, that no matter how well you deliver, you can be kicked out on a 15 minute call on any Thursday. No thanks, I expect a little more respect from my employers. Meanwhile there are doctors wandering all over Optum collecting high salaries and literally delivering zero value. The place is fundamentally messed up. I'm glad to be out of there, and yes people are leaving. Roughly 75% of people I talked to when I said my goodbyes said they were actively looking.
I certainly don’t want to stay and absorb the workload of everyone else getting laid off with no increase in pay. I started looking months ago it’s just easier said than done. The job market is trash right now.
There is always some who leave.
I was approached on an organized sick out to support our recent terminated co-workers on their last day. Any others been asked to do this?
Layoffs are hard for those who weren't laid off. I'm sure we all will be looking for new opportunities around; however leaving is another story. It's actually best we also get laid off while actively looking for another area to apply for.
