Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

Dst vs. Ups truck driver wages, layoffs

UPS will be paying its local delivery drivers with 5 years work experience 170k per year. That way more than dst pays its average staff. Plus dst staff is always at threat of layoffs. Its actually better off financially to be a ups local delivery driver

90% of all dst management suffers from the dunning Krueger effect. IE, they blindly think they are smart

Yes, theTOMS were ruining DST back in the late 1970's.

Dst is a failure. Due to its poor management. Backwards thinking. Hiring those that can not find a job anywhere else. No concern for the clients. Competitors easily beat DST and its now basically gone. The staff at DST was pretty much immature and back biting. Always looking for someone to blame rather than just identifying a problem and fixing it. A bunch of people scared they might be called out for a mistake. So they shift the blame to others. Its too bad they are being laid off, as its a shame they will go to other local companies and taint then with their bad personalities and lack of knowledge. The poor business practices started in 1978. Its not a recent thing since the buyout.

DST is way worse than UPS. I have worked at both. UPS = future. DST = failed company in the past.

My cousin is a UPS local driver. He says the work is not bad. Its grossly overblown that is a bad abusive job. He loves driving and meets alot of people. 170K for him is great as he only has a high school education. He says there is no other job that will pay him that amount. Plus he can get overtime and then he may make closer to 200k.

So how many people at DST make 200k?

Even in the late 1970's, headhunters in the area would say DST Systems was a sweatshop to be avoided. It was a temp spot for people till they found something better. If you stayed at DST longterm, well you wasted your life.

You know that DST plans every work task. If you make a left when you're supposed to make a right, you're screamed st and never get another promotion. They watch you on security cameras every step. If you don't want to be micromanaged, I think DST is not the right choice.

You know that UPS plans every turn. If you make a left when you're supposed to make a right, you're fired. They GPS track you every step. If you don't want to be micromanaged, I think UPS is not the right choice.

Yes I read about the UPS contract. $170,000. per year in pay and benefits to drive around town and drop off packages, no meetings, no one watching you. i know its a bit harder than that. But DST has some long tedious meetings and managers that micro-manage. Most managers are proud and egotistical. In other companies they would be abject failures. But as DST they are accepted as "good managers". That shows how unrealistic DST is.
