Chances that a deal is announced with XOM in the next 6 months?!?

As stated in a previous post, the NBL layoffs leading to acquisition were a blood bath, with no discernible rhyme or reason to those that were let go. I can confirm, however, that your chances are better if CVX does not already have a significant interest in an acquired HES asset or exploration license. Unless Hess has been thinning out the herd over the last year, you should plan on a hard winter.
You guys need to fire up your resume. You've just entered the CVX bread and butter zone. They love to layoff people.
CVX didn't keep many of the Noble staff. My guess is GOM will be pretty much gutted since CVX already partners in many of the producing fields. There is no way they will keep the amount of Guyana staff being OBO. Bakken is probably the safest place to be since CVX doesn't have a presence.
Chevron doesn’t like too many employees hanging around. Don’t expect you’ll be carried over. Pack your things, kiss your loved ones, and get ready for a gloomy holiday season.
Whoever you are, you called it (CVX instead of XOM) but great guess
@1anfm+1o41jR1o CvX only kept people working operated assets, and even then only 20-30%
With Pioneer and now Hess the job prospects are getting even tighter in the oil field. If this keeps going we are going to have a very tight job market for sure.
Anyone knows how likely Chevron will extend offers to current Hess employees based in their past acquisition?
XOM said “nahhh”
Ahhh...nope...not XOM...lol
