MedExpress staff in New Tampa was called into a meeting yesterday 08/10/2023 and all let go. Clinic will close on 08/17/2023 last day for employees will be 08/24/2023. Does anyone know if other MedExpress locations are next if so when? At what point will this company stop with the layoffs. It has gone to far.

It looks like MedExpress has been closing locations since 2020 across various states. My guess is with insurance companies partnering up with pharmacies that now all have minute clinics (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart) and the huge growth in virtual care platforms easily accessed with an app (Teledoc, LiveMD, Dr. On Demand) there is much less need for free standing urgent care clinics. My guess is there is or will be additional locations closing.
