Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Any non-sales cuts? Are they still coming?

I am curious if there are still cuts coming for non-sales roles. I realize that this is now the world we live in that there is a constant trickle of WRF. More curious if there is anything imminent for non-sales this round? I know non-sales was hit harder than sales in Feb. and last August, sales was hit harder than non-sales. Is this a new cycle? Sales, then non-sales?

You all don’t understand that Dell is ALWAYS doing layoffs. It’s why I left. As a manager, I was forced to lay off some of our best employees because Dell decided to end of life a product or chase the next shiny object. This year has been the worst WFR hits I’ve seen since 2001 and 2015. However, they are ALWAYS happening. My point is to not fool yourself into thinking these are one-offs or just bad performers. It happens all of the time, to some of the best - just not on such a large scale. I don’t want to work for a company that makes you worry every time you get a meeting invite and you aren’t sure what it’s about so you start asking if Dell is doing layoffs.

More cuts coming in September. H2 budgets cut so most likely people will be cut vs program spending

There were a few in ISG Product Group that I am aware of. But I still expect the main event to be in September for ISG.

Yes non sales affected. I know of HR, Dell direct ops in DFS, possibly account receivable in DFS being affected. I hope this is it at for now.

Premier Organization. Much of what some of our teams do is now automated or shifting to a self serve for sales teams and customers alike. From my understanding all of Premier will be hit with reduction on the business (non-IT) side.

Non-sales here.
Our team has been told we will be impacted - no official dates have been given but September has been referenced in a few meetings in regard to seeing what happens.

I think, again my perspective only, no insider information. They will try and make this new GTM success and unless they settle with what they have in mind with this current strategy, there will be rounds of layoff.
I think partner model may or may not work, if they have taken such drastic step of letting go great ppl from the org, that implies they must have thought through it completely, as a sensible Leadership should do.

But i doubt they are sensible, they are bunch of idits who are fng with our happiness and peace.

So God bless us !! Keep guessing until your time comes.

Agreed with post below. They are expecting things to turn around for the better from this point on. Will not act until revenue proves otherwise.

So next metric will be holidae sales putting us at Feb layoffs if any

I do not have any insider information and have not heard from anyone...just my assumption - Next rounds may be in February (6 months trend - Feb 2023, Aug 2023, Feb 2024) just based on what has happened. This week's layoffs have impacted groups other than sales, hence I don't think it will happen in September (again my thinking only)
