Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Only TSR’s not ISR’s

Sadly only TSR’s got the big hit. ISR’s are safe.

Depends on the AE. You are correct about many AE’s not adding value (at least not commensurate with their pay) but the ones that do carry the company. It’s difficult to find good AEs. That is largely because DMs are usually former poor AEs and they look for the wrong qualities and coach on the wrong approach.

@3jxt+1o36TjY0 I would argue the opposite.
The AE brings nothing to the table at all.
The issue is that without any onsite meetings happening this has been found out during Covid.
Basically overpaid lunch hosts.
Imagine the people that could be saved on one AE salary.
This is from an AE by the way.
Add that up and its a pretty penny.

Sorry, this baffles me!!! What use are the ISR's? They sit on their desk all day, pricing quotes and sending them to their AE. Why can't the AE price quotes? Do we really need ISRs? Such an overlap... you got the associate ISR, ISR, sales specialists, AE etc. Why do all 4 need to get paid on a single deal?

Its a Scam!!

Then you got presales.... you got the TSRs, the inside SE, then the field based SE, then the specialist SE's.... who ever thought this was a great idea needs to evaluate the strategy.

Half of the time, the inside ISRs do naff all.. the SE and AE do all the hard work and these ISRs sit there, drinking coffee, playing pool in the office all day and get paid for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!

False statements. ISMs, ISRs have been hit. And it's not done.

I know of many SSRs that were let go for Enterprise, commercial and Fed.

Channel, MB, Tier 1, Enterprise ISRs and TSRs all had cuts.

Small and Medium business ISR’s were safe this time.
For how long?

I have only heard of ISR's in Channel in EMEA.
I have heard of an ISM also and TSR's.
Not sure what area you have heard has not cut ISR's.
Not sure if larger cuts will come in next wave.
Very hard to tell.

Are you from outer space? Numerous ISM and ISR were impacted. I was one of many!
