Stay far away from Aetna/CVS, especially Utilization Management! I recently left there after only a year. It was the most toxic and degrading culture I’ve worked in in the last 20 years. The metrics are unreasonable unless you work a 10 plus hour day everyday, leadership is clueless and demeaning, poor pay (70’s), tiny bonuses, 2-3% raises if you’re lucky, PTO constantly denied due to coverage issues. Understandably everyone there is miserable looking for a way out. It’s not the same Aetna, it has been a downward spiral ever since CVS came on the scene.
I recently interviewed with CVS/Atena for a utilization role. Very low pay, 70k and you'll be on a cue for part of the day. No flexibility in shift/hours.
(I have over 15 years experience in the field for reference)
To my knowledge blue cross is an in person job for utilization

A lot of these companies are laying off right now too. CVS owns Aetna they laid off 5000 employees. Humana laid off 2000. Everyone keep hope. Jobs will be scarce until first of year when new budget comes out. I pray for you all and I hope the best for each of you. We lost so many good employees, people I've worked along side for years. But when every door closes another shuts. Much love to you all.
