A heavy recession is upon us. As the 10 year treasuries increase to 6.5%, so will the interest rates on mortgages. We're looking at 10% interest to buy a house by the spring. This will prevent the up-tic in housing sales that normally happens in the spring and housing correction/crash will be next, if it hasn't happened sooner. That along with continual record setting private and public debt, corporate bankruptcies (including more banks,) more tech layoffs, and a large reduction in the purchasing power of the public on a global scale, It's going to be a very bumpy ride. When this happens, people will have less discretionary spending for things like new cars, phones and computers. Micron will not recover by 2024, in spite of what the "analysts" tell you will happen. Look at where they said Micron would be two years ago. They were wrong then and they are wrong now.
Here is a quote from Sanjay from an "investor business daily" article in September 2021 "Micron's outstanding fourth-quarter execution capped a year of several key milestones," Chief Executive Sanjay Mehrotra said in a news release. "In fiscal 2021, we established DRAM and Nand technology leadership, drove record revenues across multiple markets, and initiated a quarterly dividend." He added, "The demand outlook for 2022 is strong, and Micron is delivering innovative solutions to our customers, fueling our long-term growth."

Now answer me this, was 2022 good? Long term growth? Are we doing better now than we were then?

Get prepared everybody.

the economy looks stagnant
i can't see micron doing well if things don't pick up
they will still bleed money

Why wait to find out if it will be next month or in five years. Either way it is coming and you may be impacted. I'd start looking for something now... You can test the market, even interview and decide when you get an an offer if you want to change.

I'm happy to be doing something different outside of semiconductors.

are they still losing money?
do they still have plans to replace more americans with h1bs?
are they planning to move jobs to low cost "geos"?
is the economy moving in a positive direction for micron products?
do you think the stock market is connected to reality or an accurate assessment of what is going on?
