Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Where are long-term answers to our problems?

Layoffs can only improve things in the short term. Is our leadership so incompetent that the only thing they can think of is layoffs, over and over again? They are incapable of making other business decisions that could improve our bottom line? What are they paid the big bucks for then?

I’m watching a department being destroyed by non clinical management who are bean counters, and placed for the ultimate goal of sending jobs offshore.

“ Access to affordable healthcare should not be for profit.”

This. Single payer now. No excuses about all the American jobs lost. We lost them anyway and are now paying bonuses to a non-American citizen who lives in a country with a public option.

Layoffs are the way they ensure the share price stays steady while business stays flat. Rather than cut the huge, unnecessary executive bonuses, of course. Because they can’t live without that. So yes you’re right, it’s because they’re inept, but also because they’re saving their own a$$es at the expense of others. It’s the rich persons way of life.
