Anyone know the number of people hired during COVID?

Didn't a couple of acquisitions during this time also boost headcount?
You are giving the company management too much credit and assume they thought long and hard before increasing the headcount by about 40% during COVID-19. In reality three things were happening:
- The money was cheap
- The company saw increased demand for SoC and naively thought it would last forever
- Everyone other tech giant was doing the same. QC likes to copy AMZ and Google so not to be outdone they just ramped up hiring
It all comes down to budgets and how quickly one can spend it. Every VP at QC is building a kingdom. Most of them think they walk on water and boost their ego by showing how many minions they have on the org chart. Typical third-world mentality that have eaten what once have been a great company from the inside.
Bunch of lazy couch-jockeys facilitated the need for more hiring. Problem is the people hiring were also just sitting around and getting couch-sores. Nothing to see here folks.
Looks like total headcount went from 37000 in 2019 to 51000 in 2023. What were they thinking?
