Thread regarding CVS layoffs

this came from retail......

Team,

We want to build on Karen’s message yesterday and reiterate our joint focus on taking action to help ensure we make progress on our strategy as a company and as a Retail organization.

Together, we are redefining the future of health and wellness across America. Our stores stand as our most frequent touchpoint for the communities we serve and remain a critical part of our business and how we serve consumers.

In order to maintain the health of our business, and to help ensure we can continue to serve the consumers who depend on us every day, we are making changes that will enable us to become more efficient.

Colleagues impacted by these changes will be informed in the coming weeks and your leaders will share details and insight into any organizational changes for your individual teams. Our next Retail Town Hall will be held on September 8 when we will discuss our path forward and our priorities for the remainder of 2023 and beyond.

Times like these are never easy, and as we move forward, we ask that each of you please be mindful of and sensitive to the changes that will occur. Please continue to lead with heart in all you do, and support each other during this time.

Michelle and Prem

My department sent a contradictory email too. If they’re going to lay me off just do it. CVS is messing with peoples mental health

We have retail colleagues who work in store applications, IT, etc… that are not customer facing. I work with some of them. So yes, there will be retail corporate jobs impacted.

Notice in that email RIGHT after they say the stores remain a critical part of our business, they say we are making changes to be more efficient. That sure sounds like the stores will be affected by all this mess. Because, I read that as the stores remain a critical part of our business, however in order to continue to serve our customers changes need to be made.

Customer facing employees have been impacted. Since Karen's layoff message went out two stores have already closed and I'm sure they'll be more to come.

Retail has been employees in marketing, sales category management etc

Well that can't be right since they said no customer facing employees would be impacted, Im guessing everyone in retail is customer facing, so either they were lying then or theyre lying now,
