So many things going the wrong direction.
- Caremark facing cost pressure from customers wanting to pay less and pharma wanting to pay more.
- Oak Street cost a ton of money....likely way too much
- New org started and ki-led in months after new guy decided he didn't want to work there.
- New term of Revenge Surgery where people are getting procedures they put off during COVID. UHC reported it but Aetna feeling it as well.
- Heinz / Kraft suing Aetna for performance.
- Great hallway quote by mid level mucky much 'Karen overpaid for Oak Street so she will want to tighten belts'
- CVS stock down 24% YTD which is worse than the overall Market.
- August will be release of quarterly results. Will investors as 'how will you fix'?
Both Aetna and CVS, before merger, have a history of cutbacks when things start going south.
